Joey, Practice Manager

While working at my first veterinary hospital, I met Dr. Kayla Dougia fresh from getting her degree in 2001.  After years of watching her develop her skills, I was honored when she asked me to join her team in 2012 after finally deciding to follow her dream and open her own clinic. I am so excited to start this new journey as Practice Manager after many years of working in the field. So far it has been challenging and rewarding and I'm looking forward to building great relationships with our clients and their furry ones.

The opportunity to work with caring clients in improving their pet's lives is an amazing feeling.  Nothing feels as wonderful as seeing that one patient that was seriously ill, who everyone is rooting for, rally and make a full recovery and then leave our doors with a wagging tail or purring in its owner's arms.

I have worked in the administrative field on & off for over 20 years.  I dabbled in different professions along the way, but it wasn't until 2013 when I accepted a job at a local Veterinary Hospital that I surprisingly found my passion.  My deep love of animal & administrative work finally came together & the rest is history.  I look forward to expanding my knowledge in the veterinary field & learning the ins and outs of the business side of veterinary medicine.  The relationships I build with our clients give me a deep sense of purpose & pride.  I strive to treat each one like family.  Being able to love on your pets during their appointments is just a bonus!  I enjoy hanging out with my 2 boys,  Peyton & Landon.  They are the absolute joy of my life & I'm so proud to be their mom.  We also have 3 fur babies that own our hearts & complete our family...Tigger, Stark, & Flash.  If there is anything I can do for you & your pets, please don't hesitate to reach out me!  I look forward to hearing from you.

In June 2016 I finished my vet assistant program at Ross Medical Education Center. I knew I always wanted to work with animals ever since I was little.  I would take stray animals in and nurse them back to health by feeding them and making sure they had a warm place to sleep.  I am excited to be given the opportunity to work at Meridianville Pet Hospital and apply my care giving skills.

I grew up in Huntsville, Alabama and graduated from Buckhorn High School. I have always loved animals and have taken care of my two dogs, Snickers and Harley, for the last 11 years. I wanted to carry my passion further so I enrolled in Ross Medical Education Center in 2016. I am now a Certified Veterinary Assistant and am so grateful for the opportunity to work with Dr. Dougia, her staff, and all of our amazing patients

Growing up I have always had a passion for animals big or small.  I started out working as a kennel tech in 2017 and have worked my way up in the profession.  I am very excited to see where this career path will take me and I am looking forward to the adventures it will bring!

I have always known at a young age I wanted to work with animals.  I have a huge passion for working in the vet field.  I started working at doggie daycare and boarding facilities a few years ago and knew I wanted to do more to further my career.  I have 3 animals of my own, 2 dogs, Libby & Boo and a kitty named Skar!  I love what I do and I am so thankful that I get to work here at Meripets to continue to grow in this field.
